Ski touring is hiking on skis adapted with skins to allow grip. Of course, what goes up must come down, and with the skins removed you are free to enjoying the fabulous descents, whether on or off-piste. It is an amazing way to get off the beaten track, and well-equipped and experienced ski tourers can explore far and wide and experience true solitude. Safe ski touring requires the ability to ski off-piste and good awareness of the risks of the mountain environment in winter.
If you’re tempted to try ski touring, join one of our specialist instructors and give it a go, either alone or with friends. Ski touring is taught in a private lesson, which means you can choose the times, days and lesson duration to suit you.
Lessons are possible every day of the season, subject to instructor availability.
Please note
Because of the technical ability required, you must hold at least the 3ème étoile level in alpine skiing to try ski touring. You can rent the equipment in Flumet Village.
